What The Festival lineup is announced! and its everything we hoped for. Here’s all you need to know…and all we can say is, “we can’t wait!”
This world-class lineup will be showcased throughout What The Festival’s eight stages, privately owned 250-acre venue offering a full range of music environments. The festival has earned a legacy as one of the best sounding events in the country, utilizing 100% Funktion one sound systems. It prides itself on offering fans a majestic departure from the ordinary, a lighthearted vessel of discovery and adventure. whether time is spent splashing around at massive pool parties, roaming between countless art installations, or dancing at the late-night stages attendees are promised a totally unique experience of a lifetime.
What The Festival has also launched its Dj contest offering aspiring artists the chance to open the event’s pool stage with travel expenses covered up to $1,000. Contestants must record their best dj mix and submit them for review between February 24 and March 1. The best mixes will be narrowed down by the WTF team and presented to the public for voting.
This event has built its reputation on a keen sense for creative curation and a deep obsession with unabashed fun. Taking place on one of the closest private ranches to Mount Hood, the vibe is set with awe-inspiring mountain views, a perpetually cool forest, and of course the other-worldly immersive environments the festival has become known for. It is this perfect canvas for interaction and joy that fosters one of the most loving, tight-knit communities on the global festival circuit.
“There are legions of Burning Man fans who feel the event is now too massive for their tastes. Plus, it’s quite a job preparing for and getting to that festival in the desert. What The Festival is the kind of event that has sprung from the need for an easier-to-experience, more intimate festival. This event has jumped up to Lightning in a Bottle’s level of production almost overnight. It’s clear that the founders are really serious about creating a legacy event that will be here for years to come. Yes, they’ve taken some of what works at Burning Man (including engaging the folks who create the popular Opulent Temple music venue almost every year at Burning Man), but added in some touches like the signature wading pool that create a signature that is purely WTF. I love seeing festivals like this come out of nowhere (in fact, there’s a Burning Man-like festival in Spain called Nowhere, as in “Now Here”). It only shows that there’s a growing desire for transformational festivals that create collective effervescence for a modern world.” (Fest300.com)
