Wicked Woods 2026 Survival Guide

Wicked Woods puts a festival inside a mountain camping experience. Now that sounds fun! But the easiest way to get that off to a rocky start is a missed vehicle pass, a midnight gate closure, a tent built in the dark or a phone that loses service when the map becomes important.

Bring what you need, and don’t overpack. 

Know exactly what you bought

General admission includes designated tent camping. But every vehicle needs a paid pass in 2026. 

Open the festival’s parking and camping options beside your ticket account and check the full chain: admission, early entry if used, parking, camp or lodging product and the number of vehicles. If the group wants to camp together, plan to arrive together.

The current official pages also conflict on gate payment. One says gate purchases accept cash, debit and credit; another says gate ticket sales are cash-only. So, bring a backup payment method and do not rely on buying a missing ticket at the entrance.

Treat the last hundred kilometres as part of arrival

Raven’s Nest sits directly off Highway 93/95 near Fairmont Hot Springs. The organizer publishes the entrance coordinates and tells attendees not to queue on the highway. No dependable festival airport coach or regional bus was located in the research, so a private vehicle or arranged ride is the practical default for most readers.

The arrival and gate instructions set the hard limits. Vehicle access to camping ends at 10:00 p.m., walk-in check-in continues until midnight and the highway gate is closed from midnight to 8:00 a.m. Fuel or charge the vehicle, buy essentials and save directions before the final approach. 

Build camp before dark

The site combines forest, gravel, hills, grass and uneven natural ground. Start with the pieces that become worse after sunset: shelter, rainfly, guy lines, sleeping pad, sleeping bag, dry sleep clothes, headlamp and a visible non-flame marker. The outfit can wait. Your bedroom cannot.

Camp location also changes the physical demand of the weekend. The 2026 map includes several parking, camping, RV and glamping districts, and some final locations remain subject to the current map. 

Pack for changing conditions, not a historical average

September climate history near Fairmont supports preparation for warm days, cooler nights and storms, but it is not a forecast. Bring a layer system, a waterproof shell, dry socks, sun protection and a sleep setup that remains useful when the temperature drops. Check the location-specific forecast again within 24 to 48 hours of travel.

Wildfire, smoke, air quality, roads and fire restrictions require the same close-in discipline. Check the BC Wildfire map, the location-specific Air Quality Health Index, DriveBC and organizer alerts before leaving. The published festival pages also conflict on contained propane camp stoves. Confirm the exact device and current fire rule before packing fuel.

Build an offline safety net

The official app carries schedules and location information, while the 2026 site map marks camping districts, rally points and announced care locations. Save both before the drive. Add the SOS number, camp zone, vehicle location and one precise group meeting point. “Near the stage” is not precise after dark.

Give the group a fallback that does not require a working phone: a named rally point and a time. Carry a headlamp and enough battery to keep the phone useful, but treat the phone as one layer of the plan rather than the plan itself.

Know the care routes before you need them

Wicked Woods’ health, safety and wellness resources name Odyssey Medical, Elite Security & First Aid, True North Fire Rescue, ANKORS and REES, with Sanctuary, Outreach, rally points, public-safety outposts and a sober camp also announced. Immediate concerns can be raised through the SOS line, app or QR reporting, or directly with crew. REES is presented as the pathway for non-immediate reports involving sexual misconduct, harassment, discrimination, bullying or boundary violations.

Learn the nearest physical route during the first daylight orientation walk. Sanctuary and harm-reduction support are not substitutes for emergency medical care. 

Readers who need mobility, sensory, medical-device or service-animal accommodations should contact the festival before travel and keep the response in writing.

Eat, drink and sleep like the site is remote

The festival promises free potable-water refill stations and also advises people to bring enough water. Those statements fit together: arrive with useful capacity, then refill. Do not let one small bottle become a recurring walk, five-gallon water bags work wonders. 

Stage earplugs and sleep earplugs do different jobs. Carry both. Recovery at a four-day camping festival is not a wellness performance; it is food, water, warmth, sleep and the decision to solve a small problem before it becomes the next day’s ugly mood.

Wicked Woods-specific checklist

• Ticket, government ID and screenshots of every vehicle, camping or lodging product.
• Offline site map, gate hours, SOS information and one exact meeting point.
• Rain-capable shelter, insulated sleep system, dry sleep clothes and warm layer.
• Closed-toe traction, headlamp, spare power and weather protection.
• Meaningful water capacity plus a first meal and breakfast.
• Live weather, AQHI, wildfire, road and organizer-alert check before departure.
• Written accessibility or service-animal confirmation where applicable.
• Final confirmation for stove, fuel and any equipment that could fall under the prohibited-items policy.

Wicked Woods does not require panic packing. It requires time and redundancy. Arrive early enough to build camp in daylight, carry the information that should not depend on reception and prepare for the mountain to change its mind.
